When it was time to refresh the restaurant’s signature tufted booths, Fortner was entrusted to reupholster all of the banquette seating throughout the restaurant while ensuring the restaurant could continue operating smoothly throughout the process.
The Challenge
Maintaining a Seamless Guest Experience – As The Guild House is connected to a hotel, minimizing disruptions to both the restaurant and hotel guests was critical.
Coordinating Stakeholders – Fortner worked directly with Cameron Mitchell’s home office and the restaurant’s General Manager to ensure a smooth process from material selection to installation.
Phased Execution to Maximize Seating – With limited downtime available, the project had to be completed off-site in sections, ensuring the restaurant could still function at close-to full capacity during peak hours.
The Solution
Expert Material Selection – Fortner collaborated with Cameron Mitchell’s home office team to select a high-end vinyl that would maintain the restaurant’s luxurious aesthetic while providing durability for high-traffic use.
Off-Site Reupholstery for Efficiency – To minimize disruptions, each booth was carefully removed and reupholstered off-site, allowing Fortner to execute the project with precision while keeping the restaurant operational.
Strategic Phased Installation – The newly reupholstered booths were reinstalled in sections, ensuring that The Guild House could maximize seating capacity while the updates were completed.
